Changi Airport Terminal 3 interior — terminals operate 24 hours
Hours at Changi

Opening Hours

The airport terminals run 24 hours, but not everything at Changi does. Jewel, Canopy Park, the paid attractions and individual shops and restaurants all have their own hours — and a lot of "guides" invent uniform 10 AM–10 PM times that are simply wrong. Here is what we can verify, and what you must check on the day.

What you must check on the day

A 24-hour terminal does not mean every outlet is open at 3 AM. These are the hours that vary and need a live check on the day you travel.

  • Individual shop and restaurant hours — vary widely and many close overnight even inside the 24-hour terminals.
  • Jewel attraction hours — change for private events; the Canopy Park page on the official Jewel site always has the latest times.
  • Transit hotel and lounge hours — most are 24h but bookings and walk-in availability vary by time of day.
  • Holiday hours — outlets may close early on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve or Chinese New Year; check the outlet or the Changi App.
  • MRT first/last train times — see the MRT & Bus page for the official timetable.

Frequently asked questions

Why do other Changi guides list "10 AM – 10 PM" for every terminal?
Because they copy each other. The terminals themselves are open 24 hours — only Jewel and the Canopy Park attractions have ~10 AM–10 PM hours. Inside the terminals, each shop and restaurant sets its own hours, so a 24-hour terminal does not mean every outlet is open at 3 AM. If you have a late-night or early-morning flight, check the specific outlet on the Changi App or the official site.
Can I sleep at the airport overnight?
Yes. The terminals are open 24h and there are free Snooze Lounges in the transit area of all four terminals. For a private room, book a transit hotel (Changi Transit Hotel at T1, Ambassador at T2/T3, JetQuay, or YOTELAIR at Jewel — note YOTELAIR and Crowne Plaza require you to clear immigration).
Are the free airport gardens open all night?
Yes — the signature transit-area gardens (Butterfly, Sunflower, Orchid, Cactus, Enchanted, Water Lily) are open 24 hours. They are in the transit area, so you need a boarding pass. See the Free Attractions page.
What about Jewel during a layover?
Jewel is in the public area, so you must clear arrival immigration to visit it. Its shops and attractions are roughly 10 AM–10 PM — if you land at 11 PM hoping to see the Rain Vortex, the building may be closed. The free transit-area gardens and Snooze Lounges are the airside alternative.
