Wild Coco Opens Flagship at Jewel Changi With Rain Vortex Views and Nasi Lemak
Wild Coco, the Malaysian-style nasi lemak brand that grew from a humble coffee shop stall into a small chain across Singapore, has opened its flagship store at Jewel Changi Airport. The outlet sits at L3-CL-A, on the canopy level facing the Rain Vortex, and runs daily from 10am to 9pm through to 4 September 2026. It is the most ambitious Wild Coco space yet, and the first to serve a Jewel-exclusive menu alongside the signatures.
The signature Ayam Berempah Nasi Lemak
The reason most people find Wild Coco is the Ayam Berempah Nasi Lemak. A well-marinated, golden-brown fried chicken leg arrives over fluffy coconut rice cooked fresh in coconut milk, with a sunny-side-up egg, crispy ikan bilis, crunchy peanuts, a dollop of house-made sambal and slices of Japanese cucumber. At the Jewel flagship the Ayam Bakar version swaps the fried bird for charcoal-grilled chicken, smoky and lightly charred, which is the order the regulars point to.
The sambal is the quiet hero. It goes through a laborious preparation process to land a proper punch without just being hot, and it is the component that separates Wild Coco from the dozen nasi lemak spots scattered across Changi's terminals. The coconut rice holds its own fragrance, which matters more than people admit, since weak rice is what ruins most airport nasi lemak.
The Jewel-exclusive menu
The Jewel outlet adds a short exclusive menu you will not find at the Hamilton Road, Jalan Besar or Boat Quay branches. The standout is the Kueh Pie Tee, with a spinach-tinted shell and a finely textured filling, the kind of Nyonya snack that usually requires a separate trip to a Peranakan restaurant. There is also an Ayam Bakar Nasi Lemak plate that leans into the grilled chicken over the fried, and three colourful house drinks built around Singapore-inspired flavours, including a coconut-pandan number that ties back to the brand name.
The broader menu still carries the dependable favourites. Chicken Satay from S$14.90, Nasi Lemak Goreng at S$12.90, White Curry Mee at S$13.90, Kampong Yam Cake at S$14.90 and Claypot Sayur Lodeh at S$15.90. Prices sit slightly above what you would pay at a hawker stall, but they are fair for Jewel, and the portions are genuinely large. The large nasi lemak feeds two comfortably.
A tropical setting facing the Rain Vortex
The interior is a step up from the original stalls. Rattan chairs, thematic wall art and a cosy tropical vibe that fits Jewel's canopy-level aesthetic. The real draw of this particular outlet is the location. Tables along the edge give you a front-row seat to the Rain Vortex, the 40-metre indoor waterfall that Jewel is built around, which turns a quick nasi lemak into something close to a destination meal.
That view is the reason the flagship is at Jewel and not in another CBD shophouse. You can eat a reasonably priced plate of nasi lemak while watching the waterfall cycle through its light shows, which run daily at 8pm and 9pm with an extra 10pm show on weekends. Go at 7.30pm, order, and the lights drop while you eat. It is the kind of timing that turns a transit meal into a small memory.
Who Wild Coco at Jewel suits
If you are flying out of Changi and want a proper Singaporean-Malaysian meal before boarding, this beats the food court options in the terminals for character and quality. The coconut rice travels well enough for a takeaway box if your gate is close. For visitors who came to Jewel specifically, Wild Coco is one of the more affordable full meals on L3, and the Rain Vortex view is included in the price.
The flagship is a pop-up for now, with the current run ending 4 September 2026. If it pulls the crowds the early weeks suggest, expect an extension, but do not count on it. Go before the school holidays end if you want to say you had nasi lemak by the waterfall at Changi.
