Currency exchange

Licensed money changers operate in both the public and transit areas of all four terminals, with major currencies in stock. Rates vary between operators, so compare before you exchange. ATMs are available throughout all terminals and cards are widely accepted — exchange only what you need. The Changi App can pre-order currency for collection at a Changi Recommends counter.

Tip: Singapore uses the Singapore Dollar (S$ / SGD). GST is 9%. With Changi Rewards, GST is absorbed on purchases in the public areas of T1–T4.

Tips for currency exchange

  • Compare rates between money changers in different terminals for the best deal.
  • ATMs are available throughout all terminals; credit cards are widely accepted.
  • Pre-order currency via the Changi App and collect at a Changi Recommends counter.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the Left Baggage counter?
The main Left Baggage counter is at Jewel Level 1, near the Early Check-In Lounge, operated by Smarte Carte. Bags must be security-inspected before storage. It is open during airport operating hours — verify current hours on the official baggage storage page.
Can I store my bag and leave the airport?
Yes — that is exactly what Left Baggage is for. Drop your bags at the Jewel counter, head into the city, and collect them before check-in. Storage is charged per 24-hour period; loose items S$6, small items (under 10 kg) S$11, big or odd items (over 10 kg) S$16, all including GST.
Are the medical clinics in the public or transit area?
Changi operates clinics in the transit area (for example in T1 and T3 transit areas). If you are in the public area and need a doctor, verify the current public-area clinic locations on the official facilities directory, or approach any staff member for directions. For emergencies, call the airport hotline.
Should I exchange money at the airport?
Airport money changers are convenient and stock major currencies, but rates are not always the best in Singapore. Compare rates between the operators in each terminal, and remember ATMs and cards are available everywhere — exchange only what you need for immediate use. The Changi App can also pre-order currency for collection at a Changi Recommends counter.
