Cliff Walk to Sailing Point Walk is still closed on Changi Boardwalk

NParks still has a hole in the Changi Boardwalk. The stretch between Cliff Walk and Sailing Point Walk is closed for repairs. The 1 October 2026 notice is the live one. There is no through route along the timber. If you came for a 2.2 km coastal line, you now get two shorter walks and a road.

What the notice actually closes

The park page and the noticeboard use the same sentence. The boardwalk section between Cliff Walk and Sailing Point Walk is closed for repairs. The PDF, dated 1 October 2026, marks that join in red and says there is no through route. A green road is the way between the eastern and western sections. NParks has not posted a finish date. Older search snippets still talk about Beach Walk to Sailing Point Walk till 3Q 2026. That copy is leftover from an earlier notice. Plan around a live close.

The six named sections still exist on paper. Creek Walk, 280 m, starts at the ferry terminal where the Ubin boats load. Beach Walk, 660 m, sits beside the sand. Sailing Point Walk, 600 m, looks at the yachts of Changi Sailing Club. Cliff Walk, 280 m, follows the contour under the trees. Kelong Walk, 200 m, steps out over the water on stilts. Sunset Walk, 120 m, ends on the western rocks with Punggol's lights across the strait. Add those lengths and you get about 2.2 km. The park is 1.78 ha, open 24 hours, and listed as wheelchair accessible. It sits on the Eastern Coastal Loop and the Round Island Route.

Two walks and a green road

The green detour on the notice starts at the START POINT in Changi Village. It runs inland along Netheravon Road, then Cranwell Road, toward the western END POINT near Old Pier Road. That is a road walk. Creek Walk and Beach Walk still work from the village end. Kelong Walk and Sunset Walk still work if you come in from the west. You cannot stitch them on the boardwalk until NParks reopens the red join.

For a short visit, start at the village, walk Creek and Beach until the barrier, then turn back for lunch. For the sunset rocks, go in from Netheravon and stay on Kelong and Sunset. Download the PDF before you go. The red line is easy to miss once you are already on the timber. 樟宜木栈道 is still worth the bus. It is just no longer one line.

Clubs, crocodiles, and a night walk

The Civil Service Club bungalow sits near Creek Walk. Manasseh Meyer built it before the British survey of 1927. Changi Sailing Club began in 1936 as the Changi Garrison Yacht Club. Changi Beach Club, once the RAF officers' club, sits off Kelong Walk. Those are landmarks on the walk. They are members' clubs.

Estuarine crocodiles swim in the Straits of Johor. NParks posts that on the same park page. Stay on the deck. Tents are banned here, same as at Changi Beach Park. The boardwalk is lit at night, which is why people still come after dinner at the hawker centre. Pacific swallows, black-naped terns, and common sandpipers are the birds the park page names. Changeable lizards and common sun skinks share the same list.

The ferry terminal at 51 Lorong Bekukong is still the front door for Pulau Ubin. The hawker centre next door is trading again after its own 15-day close in early October. Bus 2, 29, 59, or 109 to Changi Village Interchange, stop 99009. Tampines East, then bus 59, is the Downtown Line option. Tanah Merah, then bus 2, is the East-West option.
