Cookhouse by Koufu: A 24-Hour Colonial-Style Food Court in Changi T2 Transit
The transit lounge at Terminal 2 has a new option that does not shut at 10pm. Cookhouse by Koufu opened as a 24 hour food court in the Departure and Transit Lounge Central, running 14 stalls in a colonial styled space. For anyone on a red eye or a long layover, that is the point. The location is #03-179/184, past immigration, so it is for transit and departing passengers rather than visitors on the public side.
The format is built around convenience. Self ordering kiosks let you skip the queue, and you can also browse the menu and place orders from your phone while seated. For a transit food court at 3am, that ordering flow matters more than the decor, though the colonial styling is a deliberate choice that separates it from the standard airport court.
The 14 stalls and what to order
The draw is the food. Shiok Chicken Rice serves its Hainanese chicken sets. Na Na Homemade Curry, the Michelin Bib Gourmand Peranakan brand, runs a stall here too. The order to make is Set A2 at $13.90, with chicken curry, two French loaves and a roti prata. The curry is thick and flavourful, if slightly salty, and the crunchy baguette slices do the job of soaking up the gravy.
Pondok Nasi Padang is the nasi padang counter, with beef rendang and sambal squid among the options. The Warung Ambeng Set at $26.80 is a platter loaded with sambal kangkong, fried fish and the usual accompaniments, easily enough for two to three people. Togi Korean Kitchen handles the Korean side, with a Kimchi Pancake at $8.50, Bibimbap at $8.50 and a BBQ Pork Belly Set at $13.50.
Noodles, grill and dessert
Noodle fans get Formosa Delights' ban mian. Western comfort comes from Ali's Dry and Grill. For dessert, Nine Fresh runs the Taiwan inspired bowls. The Nine Fresh Signature at $4 is the popular pick, with silky beancurd, grass jelly and sweet toppings, and the pairing of smooth beancurd with the slightly herbal grass jelly is the best thing on the dessert counter.
For breakfast or a quick caffeine fix, Kopi and Toast sells sets and freshly brewed local kopi, plus kaya jars and coffee gift sets you can pick up for people back home. The stall list includes halal certified options among the 14, which broadens the audience in a transit area that serves a wide mix of airlines.
