Food Republic Returns to Jewel on 3 July With 20+ Stalls and a 1970s Street Food Look
The food court in Jewel's basement went dark for almost three months while Food Republic gutted and rebuilt the space. It reopened on 3 July 2026 with more than 20 stalls, a 1970s Singapore hawker street theme, and a price range that has been conspicuously thin at Jewel since the mall opened.
The official Food Republic site describes the outlet as a market dining experience inspired by Southeast Asia's vibrant hawker scene, with brick and Peranakan tiles, murals, vertical gardens and individually designed stalls. The relaunch leans into that harder than the previous iteration did. Four Michelin Bib Gourmand vendors and ten heritage food stalls anchor the line-up, and the mix is deliberately local rather than international.
The four Michelin Bib Gourmand stalls
Na Na Homemade Curry is the anchor. The Peranakan brand has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand for ten straight years, from 2016 to 2025, built on a family secret recipe dating back to 1989. The gravy is slow-cooked with Indian dried chillies, over 10 herbs and fragrant coconut, and you pick fish, chicken or mutton as the protein. The order here is the Fish Head Curry, a lemak broth loaded with fish head, tofu puffs, okra and eggplant.
LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles brings the Bib Gourmand noodle counter, recognised from 2022 to 2025. The brand traces back to a humble pushcart in 1968, and its fishballs are hand-made daily from 100 per cent yellowtail using a Teochew recipe from the 1960s. The signature noodle comes dry or in soup, tossed with chilli and crispy crackling.
Jian Bo Shui Kueh, a Bib Gourmand brand from 2021 to 2025 with roots back to 1958, sells its heritage Teochew chwee kueh from the Toast Today Nanyang Kopi drinks stall. Soft steamed rice cakes come topped with homemade preserved radish (chai poh). It is the breakfast order that rounds out the court.
MP Thai is the newest Bib Gourmand, recognised from 2024 to 2025. Founded in Thailand in 2020, the family-run concept makes its food atrium debut at this outlet. The hook is that MP Thai uses rich chicken broth instead of water in its signature dishes, deepening the flavour while keeping the Thai identity.
A Hong Kong claypot brand lands in Singapore
Ai Shan Claypot Express makes its Singapore debut at this food court. The Hong Kong brand combines Hunan-inspired flavours with Hong Kong-style claypot rice technique, and the claypot cooking process is tuned to produce a consistent crispy rice crust in every serving. Each pot uses two types of rice, peanut oil from China, and a homemade soy sauce blended from over 20 spices. The stall sits among the heritage brands rather than the international row, and the layered, aromatic pots top with lap cheong and pork ribs.

A 1970s hawker street, down to the street cats
The 1970s theming is more than signage. Hanging street lights, a section that replicates five-foot walkways, old-style tables and posters recall 1970s Singapore, and there are models of street cats placed around the food court. A faux grill glows next to the grilled chicken wing stall. Traditional rattan kid's high chairs sit in keeping with the rest of the decor. Photo spots include an old-time calligraphy letter writer at the rear and a vendor selling ice balls at the entrance.
Look down at the stalls and the detail continues: slipper stickers at each stall indicate where to queue, a small touch that makes the court read as a designed space rather than a polished mall food court. Some of the stalls trace their recipes back as far as the 1960s, which is the whole point of a heritage line-up sitting under one roof at an airport mall.
The postcard redemption and how to get there
Food Republic is running a reopening promotion from 4 to 31 July 2026. Spend a minimum of S$18 across up to two combined receipts and you can redeem limited edition postcards, stamps and other collectables at the redemption counter inside the food court. The detail worth knowing: you can actually mail the postcards from the atrium to destinations worldwide, which is a nicer airport souvenir than most.
The food court is in Jewel's basement at #B2-238, 239, 240, an eight-minute walk from Changi Airport MRT station. It is not halal certified overall, though several stalls are individually halal. If you are flying rather than visiting, note that Jewel is the public side of the airport, before immigration, so plan the stop for arrival or on a layover when you can clear into Singapore.
